killing daydreams

i smashed the clouds today,

your eyes twinkling like stars
and grinning like it's some kind of personal joke
between us.>
all i remember was shards
raining down on my shoulders
like brittle rain

there was nothing beautiful about
the way you tore my dreams apart
with your bare hands,
threw away everything to the wind,
